If you have been reading my blog for a while, you may remember me writing about how I started to lose a lot of hair after my son was born. At the time, I figured it was due to hormonal changes and had hoped that when I finished nursing him my hair would return to its normal state. You can read more in my post Hair Hair Everywhere.
My hairline used to be fuller and much lower on my forehead. I used to have to buy barrettes, hair clips, and elastics made larger specifically for thick hair because the regular ones either wouldn’t hold my hair or they would break, but now I can use my daughter’s small ones meant for finer hair without any problems.
Even though I had only discussed it on my blog and with my physician, my mom even noticed the change in my hair- and the natural regrowth I had hoped for never happened. Instead, my hair had continued to thin even though I tried not to wear my hear in a tight ponytail, brush my hair too roughly, and even switched to washing my hair every two days instead of each day. I was taking some generic hair, skin, and nails gummy vitamins and using a shampoo containing biotin and collagen. I hadn’t noticed any positive changes from any of those things and stopped using the shampoo.
Then, as I discussed in my blog post Hair We Go Again, I saw an advertisement on Twitter looking for bloggers to try out and give a review of HR23+, a hair growth supplement, and I thought perfect!

What is HR23+?
What is HR23+?
HR23+ is a leading hair health supplement designed to help prevent hair loss and promote hair growth in men and women who suffer from early stages of baldness and thinning hair, caused by common conditions of alopecia, such as pattern baldness, seasonal shedding, menopausal baldness, and post-partum hair loss.
How long does HR23+ take to work?
The results from HR23+ will vary from person to person, but a minimum trial period of three months is recommended. The results from HR23+ are much faster than comparable products, and some customers notice visible improvements in their hair after just a few weeks.
What is the difference between HR23+ Supplement and HR23+ Serum?
HR23+ supplement is taken orally, whereas HR23+ serum is applied to the scalp externally.
Does HR23+ supplement need to be taken with HR23+ serum?
HR23+ serum was created as an alternative to the supplement. Many people were uncomfortable taking supplements orally, so we developed a topical application version of the supplement. It is not essential to take the supplement and serum together, however, many of our users choose to do this.
Information from HR23+ FAQs page
After receiving the HR23+ hair health supplement in the mail, I first checked with my doctor to make sure that it wouldn’t have any potential adverse effects or interactions with my current prescription medications. She gave me the green light and I started taking four capsules of HR23+ each morning with my normal vitamins and prescriptions. It has now been a month since I started taking the supplement and I have finished the bottle. I would like to note that I did not use the scalp therapy serum.
The capsules themselves were easy to swallow. They didn’t have any particular taste or smell. I did notice that they made my urine a neon yellow color each day, probably from the B vitamins. When I reached the bottom of the bottle I did find that there were little balls rolling around in the bottom of the glass jar – which I assume was some silica gel desiccant that had somehow escaped from the small bag that had been inside.
OK, I’m a realist. I didn’t expect to look like Rapunzel overnight, but gaining some long flowing locks would have been pretty amazing.

I believe the hair around my forehead, particularly right in front, seems fuller or denser; I see less of my scalp. There are lots of little hairs around my face, which is normal, but there does appear to be more than what I would usually have.

The hairline along the sides of my forehead hasn’t changed too much. There are lots of little hairs but it doesn’t seem like some of the more bare areas filled in too noticeably.
What’s the verdict?
Overall, I think the supplement did help me regrow hair. I noticed more tiny hairs and more fullness than I had seen in a long time. I did receive one positive comment at work (where I did not share that I was taking HR23+) about my hair getting longer. But, I would like to use the product for longer than one month to really give it a true evaluation, and I would like to try the serum as well.
